Happiness

…Happiness is the uncle you never
knew about, who flies a single-engine plane
onto the grassy landing strip, hitchhikes
into town, and inquires at every door
until he finds you asleep midafternoon
as you so often are during the unmerciful
hours of your despair. – Jane Kenyon

Happiness is immaculate
and wordless
Happiness is the fire person
Burning for your path
Lighting like the moon
dense and bright and alive
Hoovering on the alphabet blue
of the world
Uncovering a soul into desire
Pulling out a Love
that dissolves and finishes…

Happiness is the love
carved into the bark
that kills pitfalls and
feeds the unicorn-green grass.

Happiness is a father
that lived oceanless
for a daughter to grow
tied to the oceanside.

Art by Hansol Choe.

She is primarily a teacher of English. Also her mind is lured by goodies like finance, economics, interest rates, the stock market, as she has a hankering for how the money is made. Nevertheless she is a dreamer on a cloud...As dreams cost nothing... On ordinary days she is a word-weaver for everything and everything that breathes. On the best of days she just follows the seasons by means of bike, skis, or roller-skates. She is grateful to all colors of the world and to people who read, smile and drop a line here, or on her email. Beautiful thoughts Iulia, expressed beautifully. I think I might print this and have on my wall for those times, rare I can say so I’m fortunate, when I am not ‘happy’ (it was not always so).
Thinking of you at this Christmas time and sending you ‘stardust’ with blessings. ❤️

Thank you! 💜 Please do 🙂 The mere ordering of these words made me the happiest. As I am the happiest to have received such tremendous quantities of love. I try to remember this whenever I am down and confused and miserable.
Thank you for your stardusted wishes and for everything beautiful and lasting that can prolong the happiness state to let’s say, forever 🙂
May you have Blissful Holidays full of merriment and joy! 💜💚

  3. The first part sets a subtle intensity i like very much .then the next is like a reinforcement of something so beautiful and deep. Ending with a painting that simply portrays everything in a natural way. It’s like listening to voices, then seeing for the first time.

  7. A beautiful definition of happiness! I was truly taken by the last lines about a father and daughter. I have a three-year-old son, so that hit home, nicely 🙂

  17. Happiness is that dream come through which you never thought will be so, and then suddenly you find the sweet memories of your childhood gushing up your mind and then you smile again. This to me is also happiness! 🙂
