Engleza de joi/ Endurance

Endurance = the ability to withstand hardship or adversity.

“Passion has little to do with euphoria and everything to do with patience. It is not about feeling good. It is about endurance. Like patience, passion comes from the same Latin root: pati. It does not mean to flow with exuberance. It means to suffer.”
Mark Z. Danielewski

She is primarily a teacher of English. Also her mind is lured by goodies like finance, economics, interest rates, the stock market, as she has a hankering for how the money is made. Nevertheless she is a dreamer on a cloud...As dreams cost nothing... In ordinary days she is a word-weaver for everything and everything that breathes. In the best of days she just follows the seasons by means of bike, skis, or roller-skates. Thought provoking, as the quote accompanying your Thursday word so often is. I’m not sure whether I have endurance or passion, though I like to think I have the latter. Suffer? I’m not too sure about that either.

      Thank you! 🙂
I have pondered about this as passion is a little overrated these days, everybody talks about it, as in “Follow your passion”….nobody says much about hard work and the pain… I have read about some businesses that have failed because the entrepreneurs have been blinded by passion. So I agree 🙂 Suffering may counteract the euphoria.
In a more personal note, my favorite “topic”, cycling, has cost me a lot of injuries and a lot of pain. But I feel liberated. Endurance is a form of freedom.

A different thought. You chose this author, if that is the right word, for your quote for today, 2 Nov. Without knowing this, I chose this day to try to resurrect my story in progress which, like Danielewsky’s ‘Only Revolutions’ features alternating narration from each of a couple in a relationship, some changes of font to identify who is speaking, and some other font changes for other purposes. I even printed the draft (about five months ago) so that you have to turn the ‘book’ between ‘chapters’ to read it. None of this was mentioned in my post today about restarting work on my little story. A lot simpler than the American cult author’s creation but I have to ask, as someone said, “what the font is going on?”

Endurance (Pain/Passion) – Wrapped by Success has the ability to make you forget the performance/pain and it is revealed as Passion. 😂 That’s where we often have Tears. ………….of Joy 😂.!
