Engleza de joi/ Lurk

Lurk =  to wait or move in a secret way so that you cannot be seen.

“You must write every single day of your life… You must lurk in libraries and climb the stacks like ladders to sniff books like perfumes and wear books like hats upon your crazy heads… may you be in love every day for the next 20,000 days. And out of that love, remake a world.”
Ray Bradbury

Art by Anton Pieck.

She is primarily a teacher of English. Also her mind is lured by goodies like finance, economics, interest rates, the stock market, as she has a hankering for how the money is made. Nevertheless she is a dreamer on a cloud...As dreams cost nothing... On ordinary days she is a word-weaver for everything and everything that breathes. On the best of days she just follows the seasons by means of bike, skis, or roller-skates. She is grateful to all colors of the world and to people who read, smile and drop a line here, or on her email. Contributing author for 5 Medium.com publications, Spillwords.com and Anthology Volume I: Writings from the Sudden Denouement Literary Collective.

As ever an interesting quote Iulia, and beautiful artwork. However, you know, I completely ignore Ray Bradbury’s advice. I did read and seek out books in an earlier life, ‘lurking’ in libraries but even more in second hand bookshops. I guess this lasted from less than 5 years old to around early 20s, when I began to write professionally and read only what was necessary for that (not fiction). Now my reading is mostly the posts of bloggers and very occasionally a novel, mostly a return to books I’ve read before (eg, Dickens’s Christmas Carol every Christmas and Emily Bronte’s Wuthering Heights – and her poems – from time to time). Apart from when I wrote as my job as a journalists I’ve never written every day though recently I’ve found myself writing a blog post almost every day – I’ve no idea why.

Thank you, Roger! You have had a beautiful career. I write professionally and personally every day, in the worst days only emails and in the best, text of my own liking. I do wish to write more. At least more than I read. I did acquire this naughty habit and I cannot quit. I read everything I can find from blogs to business books. Anyway, I have not read all the books in my library, so I have to make amends. I liked the times when as a student I was lurking libraries. “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times” 🙂 XXX

Your words are stardust, they shine and sparkle in my heart. Thank you!
